I've got a book group that's reading Parker Palmer's "Healing the Heart of Democracy: The Courage to Create a Politics Worthy of the Human Spirit." Maybe I'm reading it to push back at the despair and foreboding I feel as I consider the nation and the world. It takes some courage and discipline to resist the easy appeal of becoming an unloving critic instead of Christ's hard appeal to love your awful neighbor as yourself.
Good reflection.
